LOL Is that lady gaga in one of those pics? Yeah, I do agree that many of these "fashion stylist" steal ideas and styles from actual visual artist who make a living creating art. Most of these fashion stylist just put their name on somebody else creations and then make a profit.

I just found this interesting quote from Lady Gaga in The New Yorker (Nov. 30, 2009)

"It is that moment of fashion, that moment of performance, and that moment of music, combined with art and love, that makes what Gaga is all about... the objective is to always be making something that belongs in a museum. Even what I'm wearing right now."

Nice to hear that she is all about performance, quality, and producing something that is museum worthy! Seems like Lady Gaga and her "Haus of Gaga" (reference to Walter Gropius' Bauhaus?) are bent on pushing fashion, art, and everything in between forward.

I am an aspiring museum curator. I am currently a senior in high school and will begin my studies in Art History next fall. It JUST dawned on me that something like this would be out there, and I am thoroughly excited. E-mail me if you would like any post ideas! subscribing now!

Great post! There are also some neat connections between art and cosmetics. Marilyn Minter, Richard Phillips and Maira Kalman all collaborated on a collection for MAC back in August, and this month French artist Nathalie Lété created illustrations for Bourjois eye shadows and blushes. :)
